Chicken Salad Chick

I’ve seen Chicken Salad Chick restaurants popping up around town lately. So when one of the local restaurants invited me out to try the food, I happily accepted. I decided to go for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The location I visited is the newest, at JTB and Phillips Highway. I had my friend Anna meet me there and we got a few different chicken salad flavors and a pasta salad to try. The inside of the restaurant is bright and inviting, and I loved the Jacksonville photos on the walls. We ordered at the counter and sat down. The food came out pretty quickly and was served with crackers. We ordered 2 of the trio platters with the following chicken salad flavors: Classic Carol, Nutty Nana, Sassy Scotty, Jalapeno Holly, Kickin’ Kay Lynne, and Jazzy Julie.
My favorites had to be the Jalapeno Holly and the Sassy Scotty. I mean how can you go wrong with ranch, cheese, AND bacon?!?!?! In case you were wondering, you can’t.

Anna noticed that all of the different flavors have different consistencies, so we thought that was interesting. I’m assuming it has to do with the ingredients since the ones with sauce (ranch, buffalo sauce, etc) were creamier than the others. Another standout was the Pimento Cheese chicken salad. If you are a pimento cheese fan, you will love this. It is such an odd combination, but it’s just weird enough to work. I also want to point out that the spicy flavors do have a little kick to them, but don't worry about them being too hot. They are a mild heat.

Verdict: Liked it!
I really love that they have so many chicken salad options. I feel like it has been reinvented and will now appeal to a wider range of people. They have very unique varieties and I was pretty impressed with everything. You can order the chicken salad by itself or as a sandwich if you prefer. They also have combos where you can get half a sandwich and half a cup of soup. I recommend getting the trio platter on your first trip so you can try a few different ones and see which one you like the best.
