4 Rivers Smokehouse (Endless Summer of BBQ)
Recently I was invited out to 4 Rivers Smokehouse to sample some of their new Endless Summer of BBQ offerings. I was already a huge 4 Rivers fan so I jumped at the chance. We started our meal with 3 of their new salads; Texas Caesar Salad, Tangy Thai Salad, and Farmhouse Salad (descriptions below) as well as a rack of Baby Back Ribs with Peach Habanero BBQ Sauce.
Texas Caesar Salad - Crisp romaine leaves topped with protein-rich roasted chickpeas, signature 4R cornbread croutons and shaved Parmesan. Served with vegetarian Caesar dressing.
Tangy Thai Salad - Tender kale spring mix topped with protein-rich roasted chickpeas, julienned cabbage and garnished with toasted sliced almonds. Served with spicy Thai vinaigrette.
Farmhouse Salad - Tender kale spring mix and crisp romaine topped with protein-rich roasted chickpeas, chopped cucumber, tomatoes, onion, cheddar cheese and signature 4R cornbread croutons.
Each salad was unique and I was pleased to learn that you can add any meat you like right on top. So these salads are perfect for the salad lover in your life as well as the "health conscious but still loves meat too much to go without".
The ribs were spectacular. The meat had a nice flavor and was fall off the bone tender, which made me happy because I am not a big fan of gnawing on the bones. I would much rather "fork" them. No one needs to see all that.
The final menu item we tried was the 4R Footlong — Grilled all-beef foot-long hotdog piled high with pulled pork, melted cheddar, coleslaw and 4R Signature Sauce. This thing was a beast! It is definitely a whole meal with all the proper summer staples included (as toppings).
These summer items won't stick around forever so make sure to stop in and give them a try!
